Our story

Jo Millar and Debbie More were best friends before deciding to open their own, concept store in Bangalow, on the NSW north coast.  They both love shopping, interiors, gardening and travelling. So when the opportunity presented itself for the pair to start a business, the choice was simple. Jo and Debbie apply their eye for design to sourcing beautiful and unique things, either for their store or to fill specific customer requests.  In fact it’s partly the thrill of the find that that keeps them enjoying and developing their business.  It’s more of a passion than job.

About

Jo and Debbie began trading in April 2009, initially in a small shop in the main street of Bangalow. Later, when that building was destroyed by fire, in December 2010, they moved into the site of the old Bank of New South Wales, just up the street.  At the rear of the building is Jo’s home and garden where she has lived for 18 years.

Both Jo and Debbie are inspired by European country style while still loving the essence of Australian living – el fresco dining, casual entertaining, liveable friendliness.

Whether your home is a ramshackle cottage in rural surrounds or a contemporary space in a village or urban centre -or anything in between – they know you’ll find pieces in their store that will beg to be taken home. Many of the pieces they carry are one off and you’ll find quirky sitting alongside elegant; avant garde beside traditional. Their selection of homewares is eclectic but always chosen with style and function in mind.

“I choose pieces because I love them,” says Jo. “If I fall in love with something I have to have it and I also know that someone else will love it too. The hardest part of the business is parting with the pieces.”

We believe in INDIVIDUALITY – you won’t find racks of the same item in our store.  We delight in discovering small fashion and homewares suppliers whose philosophy fits with ours.

We believe in old-fashioned SERVICE – we’ll help you find the perfect piece that you feel confident in and   love to source items for our customers. We keep each and every one of them in mind when we are selecting our pieces.

Most of all, we believe that shopping for things you love, whether that is beautiful fashion or things for your home, should be an experience that enriches you. We like to think that our customers leave us feeling that they have gained a piece of fashion or some homewares that will continue to give them pleasure time after time.
